LAFS PRESENTS SHOWROOM
One of our priorities at LAFS is to promote our region’s talent. While many Latin designers have succeeded beyond the borders of their country of origin, we believe there are so many more that deserve international exposure.
This abundance of talent is why for the first time, LAFS will be curating a showroom with 40 top Latin American brands. These brands will get to showcase their product to international buyers and retail specialists from all over the world as well as to editors and the rest of our 2019 attendees, including key influencers in fashion.
What are we looking for?
We are looking for great design, originality and commitment. Regardless if your brand is emerging or more established, we are looking for great pieces that reflect Latin American talent. Clothing, jewelry, swimwear, shoes and accessory lines can all apply.
How do I apply?
Applying is easy—fill out the form below and make sure you include a WeTransfer link with your brand’s last two lookbooks and linesheets. After you have submitted the form, we will review your application and get back to you within a week. While we would love to accept all applications, space is limited.
The deadline to apply is August 15th, and layout availability will be first come first serve.
How does it work?
The showroom will be inside Casa 1537, the official LAFS hub for 2019. It will be open from November 12th to 15th.
On Wednesday, November 13th, buyers from some of the most internationally respected retailers in the world will do an official visit to the showroom.
We have confirmed attendees from the following retailers:
Net-a-Porter, Shopbop, Farfetch, Browns Fashion, Matches Fashion, Bloomingdales, The Conservatory, Armarium, Boho Hunter, Cooperativa Shop, Maison Marche, Maris Collective, Enni Monaco, St. Dom, Mandolin and Serenella. More participants to be confirmed.
After the official buyer visit, the showroom will open its doors to the rest of the LAFS attendees and you will have the option to sell at retail price.
Please note that designated dates and showroom hours are:
November 12th – 15th
Please take note that the buyer visit takes place on November 13th at 12:00pm – 2:30pm.
What is the cost?
You will hear from us approximately a week after you have submitted your application and we will let you know if your brand has been accepted. In the email, we will also go over floorplans and space layout. You will then have 7 business days after acceptance date to pay for your stand, otherwise we will not be able to hold a spot for you.
Prices start from $2,500 USD, and go up to $4,000 USD, depending on layout, size and location. Offer will be first come first serve basis.
Can I sell during the showroom?
Yes, If you wish to sell your items at retail price, please wait after the buyer waltkthrough. LAFS will not be responsible for transactions. We suggest you use online payment platforms such as, Squarespace, PayPal, Shopify or Swipe.
What should I show?
Depending on your space, we recommend you take your latest collection as well as your bestselling items. If you plan to sell, make sure you bring stock with you as you will have storage available.
While the house has 24 hour security, LAFS is not responsible for the merchandise.
- The LAFS showroom is a great opportunity to show your brand and merchandise to top retailers. We know that great things can come out of this activation, however, please do not expect orders from buyers.
- Please note that your application will only be valid with proof of purchase of a LAFS 2019 General Admission ticket. If you have not purchased your ticket, click here.
- We highly advise you to bring an assistant to help you with your stand, as we do not want you to miss the amazing content we have prepared for you in panels and workshops. For that reason, LAFS will provide a SHOWROOM PASS for your assistant. Please note that this pass will not have access to panels or dinners, just Casa 1537.
